135,000 for 70,000

Reading the Star just now and this news article brings back memories.

Nearly 135,000 students applied for 70,000 places in our public universities, which means nearly half of that number would be turned away.

I remembered when i was that age.

Exam results were out. Rushed to school to collect STPM results. Barely scrapped through.

Next, fill in some forms, pray very hard to get into varsity.

Next few weeks was agony. Then called the Infoline. Given some code for course and university place offered.

Initially thanked god I got in. Then dissapointment eventhough i did get the course that i wanted but not the university of my choice. Well, beggars cant be choosy.

Went to uni, a bit of a culture shock, but in the end enjoyed my stint tremendously.

Best of luck to the applicants. Hope most could be as LUCKY as i was.

Never end to studying life, wishing u were working instead of studying, and now wishing u were back as a student instead of working. Yeah, those were the days. Living away from ur parents, being independent for the 1st time, burning holes in ur pocket, living off half-cooked maggee mees, first few dates, crappy lecturers, memorable campus life, the good grades, etc etc etc. Graduated, got a life, and now, happily blogging. Haha. Memorable indeed, and now life has to go on.

Yes.. I totally agree with Ladydin. The only thing you should always remember is that you were blessed and you should make the most out of it.

P.S. Thanks for stopping by :)
